---> THE STARTING POINT: Stressed out with many inappropriate symptoms.

FIRST CHALLENGE: RECOGNITION / ACCEPTANCE BARRIER
(REMAIN CHALLENGED BY BARRIER or PASS BARRIER AND GO TO STEP 1)

---> STEP 1: RECOGNITION OF FEELINGS:

If no recognition, DEFAULT to Starting Point.

If recognition, CONTINUE to Barrier.

---> STEP 2: REJECTION/ACCEPTANCE OF FEELINGS FROM WITHIN

If rejection, DEFAULT to Starting Point

If acceptance, CONTINUE

SECOND CHALLENGE: EXPRESSION / ACCEPTANCE BARRIER
(REMAIN CHALLENGED BY BARRIER or PASS BARRIER AND GO TO STEP 3)
---> STEP 3: EXPRESSION OF FEELINGS THE RIGHT WAY (STRESS OPTION A) OR EXPRESSION OF ACCEPTANCE OF FEELINGS (STRESS OPTION B)

If no expression, RETURN to Step 1 & RETRY or DEFAULT to Starting Point

If expression, CONTINUE

---> STEP 4: REJECTION/ACCEPTANCE OF EXPRESSION OR ACCEPTANCE OF FEELINGS FROM WITHIN OR WITHOUT

If rejection, RETURN to Step 1 & RETRY or Default to Starting Point

If continued rejection by Receptor, RETURN to Step 3 & Exit

If acceptance, CONTINUE

THIRD CHALLENGE: AFFECTION / ACCEPTANCE BARRIER
(REMAIN CHALLENGED BY BARRIER or PASS BARRIER AND GO TO STEP 5)

---> STEP 5: AFFECTION

If no affection, RETURN to Step 1 & RETRY or DEFAULT to Starting Point

If affection, CONTINUE

---> STEP 6: REJECTION/ACCEPTANCE FROM WITHIN OR WITHOUT

If rejection, RETURN to Step 1 & RETRY or DEFAULT to Starting Point

If acceptance, CONTINUE

---> STEP 7: THE GOAL: STRESS SYMPTOMS UNDER CONTROL OR ALLEVIATED.

If stress symptoms reoccur RETURN to Step 1 & RETRY or DEFAULT to Starting Point

GET THROUGH CHALLENGE 1 > STEP 1 + STEP 2 + GET THROUGH CHALLENGE 2 > STEP 3 + STEP 4 + GET THROUGH CHALLENGE 3 > STEP 5 + STEP 6 = GOAL: STRESS SYMPTOMS UNDER CONTROL OR ALLEVIATED

These steps are a formula for successful stress reduction through honesty in communication. I did not create this formula! I simply observed it in action, then tested and proved it time and time again in individual and group counseling situations. I can find no shortcuts. For results, you will want to follow the formula exactly and not try to change any part of it, because if you do, you will find yourself defaulting to the Starting Point.
